New Zealand - midway between the Southern Alps and
the Tasman sea, and is accessible by road, train and
bus.
All roads into the
area are tarsealed, and with the recent upgrading
of the Arthur's Pass road (State Highway 73, The Alpine Highway) - through the Southern Alps
- makes an enjoyable car journey from the eastern
side of the South Island, The mountains and scenery
through this mountain pass are very spectacular. The new road viaduct
is a magnificent feat of engineering, not to be missed.
TranzAlpine
Train
The TranzAlpine train to and
from Christchurch to Greymouth is one of the top six
train journeys of the world.
On it’s journey from Christchurch to Greymouth
the TranzApline Train will stop at Lake Brunner /
Moana on request. We offer a free pick up service
to and from the TranzAlpine train to our motel complex.
A Coach runs daily from Christchurch and
on request will stop directly outside Lake Brunner
Country Motel.
Christchurch International Airport is a 2 1/2 hour
car journey to Lake Brunner. Hokitika is a 1 hour
car journey.
